Motherhood | Prosper, TX Photographer

What is your favorite thing to photograph?  This is a question I get asked a lot.  Obviously, my own kids are my favorite, but for clients I seem to go back and forth between families and newborns (which is pretty much a family session anyway).  I used to not be able to pinpoint what it is about these sessions that made my heart sing, but then I realized that I am obsessed with watching a mother and her child(ren) through my lens.  Shooting what I see and what I want them to see when I am finished with a gallery.  And then I realized…why not have shoots that focus on this.  Motherhood.  It’s not like mommy and me sessions are a new thing.  Everyone does them…or almost everyone.  Generally, around Mother’s Day you will see your social media feed blow up with mommy & me minis.  But, why should we just focus on this beautiful bond once a year?  I recently decided that I want more of theses shoots.  Our babies need to see their mamas in the frame!  I’m guilty of staying behind the camera.  But I’m here too and I want my kids to know that.  Every day I am here.  Every day I love them.  I want to show that love through photographs.  Something tangible for my kids to have when they are older.  And I want you to have it too.  I want you to see the beauty in motherhood.

So many baby boys lately!  I love it!!  I have to say that this couple was just as cute as can be.  One set of grandparents were in town and were also the sweetest.  They even jumped in for some photos with their new grandson at the end.  I mean, even the dogs were awesome!  I know nobody is perfect, but these guys were pretty dang close.

Love | DFW Newborn Photographer

Being able to watch a family grow is amazing.  I photographed their older son’s newborn photos a couple of years ago and I was delighted when they called me to document bringing their new baby boy into their home.  When you enter a home with a toddler, you really never know what you are going to get.  Will they listen?  Do they even like their new baby brother/sister?  But this session couldn’t have gone better.  Big brother was AMAZING and obviously loves his new best friend.  The love this family shows for one another is incredible.

Baby Makes 3 | Dallas, TX Newborn Photographer

I am pretty sure that most families I meet are pretty awesome.  This one was no exception.  Loved their home and their sweet little nursery and of course their precious little girl!!  It was such a loving and calming session and I left with a huge smile on my face.

A Journey Home | McKinney, TX Newborn Photographer

Y’all.  This family.  Their story is truly amazing.  This mama was diagnosed with severe pre-eclampsia at only 20 weeks pregnant.  At 23 weeks and 1 day she had to deliver her twins due to complications.  The little boy was born at 1 lb 4 oz and the little girl was 1 lb .4 oz.  Unfortunately, after 2 days their baby girl was called home to God, but their sweet baby boy proved to be a fighter.  After 4 months and 3 surgeries he was able to come home (on his due date!!).  I feel so fortunate that I was able to document these early days at home with their miracle baby.
